Yay! I finally finished my May dress! This dress is two layers of silk/cotton voile with a bit of butterfly poly included in the mix! I made a little belt with a bit of dupioni silk, some boning and four snaps. It was a PERFECT dress for a sunny summer day. I will be wearing this every day for the rest of the summer, so these daily outfit posts may get a bit boring…

A Saturday spent running errands, vacuuming, changing slipcovers, vacuuming, dusting, vacuuming… you get the picture. This is my FAVORITE tank top, which unfortunately, is no longer wearable. Coffee + white tank = sad patty. Must find perfect white cherry knit fabric to make replacement…

The shorts are a crazy restyle. They were originally jeans (I know, ugly, right?) I chopped them off and made handy cargo and ipod pockets with the parts of the legs I chopped off. They aren’t great LOOKING (there’s even paint on my rump roast!) but they’re great for chore day!

Long day at work! New skirt! I like the skirt, but clearly need to redraft the waistband. It’s a bit on the short side, which causes funky gathers on the front of the skirt. Ah well…

Another beautiful day. With rain. I’m not sure about these shoes. I totally fell in love with them and they came in this nude color and black. Since I already have a few pairs of black flats, I thought to add another color. Yet, strangely, these nude shoes don’t seem to ‘go’ with anything!

Today is the first day of Me Made June! A super fun project that has 147 sewists and others signed up! It’s a simple project – each participant pledges to wear a certain number of handmade garments every day in June. In previous me-made months I’ve aimed for one handmade garment a day, but for this month I’m grudgingly stepping it up a bit and aiming for all me-made with a few exceptions… cardigans, dog-walking duds, gardening get-ups and I’m guessing there’ll be a few RTW tanks that make it in during the month. I mean, I can make ‘em, but why??

A glorious day in Minneapolis! I was off for the day and puttered around the house, sewed, took Lucy the hound for a walk and played in the garden.

PS – I’m catching up on blog posts and realized that these Born shoes are in heavy rotation… apparently I need more!

This is a favorite skirt of mine! It’s wool and silk tweed with horsehair in the hem, so it’s super twirly! Mr. Bug and I headed over to the neighbor’s house for a grill-out. It was a bit chilly, so bare legs with a cozy skirt and a cardigan were just the ticket!
